In short: MonthBox works entirely on your iPhone or iPad. It has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it has no server of its own. Your photos, videos and settings are never sent to the Service Provider.
This privacy policy applies to the MonthBox: Photos by Date app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by Pablo Butron (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
The Service Provider does not collect, store or receive any personal information through the Application. There is no sign-up, and the Application does not contain any analytics, advertising or tracking software.
The Application does not gather information about the location of your mobile device.
Grouping your photos by date and creating ZIP files happens entirely on your device. The Application reads the date of each photo and video to sort it into a day, week, month or year, and copies the original files into a ZIP archive when you choose to share. None of this content leaves your device unless you send it somewhere yourself.
To function, the Application asks for access to your Photo Library. This access is used only to show your photos grouped by date and to build the ZIP files you request. You can grant access to all photos or only to the photos you select, and you can change this at any time in your device's Settings app. The Application does not edit or delete anything in your Photo Library.
If some of your photos are stored in iCloud Photos, your device downloads them from Apple's iCloud when they are needed for a ZIP. That download is handled by Apple's Photos framework under Apple's own privacy policy. The Service Provider has no access to your iCloud account.
If you allow notifications, the Application shows a local notification on your device when a large ZIP has finished in the background. These notifications are created on your device and are not sent through any server of the Service Provider.
The Application keeps the following information only on your device:
Your preferences may be included in your device's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup), which are managed by Apple and you.
When you share a ZIP, you choose where it goes (for example AirDrop, Files, Mail or another app) using the standard iOS share sheet. From that point the file is handled by the destination you picked and its own privacy policy.
Please note: MonthBox exports your original files at full quality. Original photos and videos can include embedded metadata such as the date, camera details and, if location was on when the photo was taken, the place where it was taken. Check what you share before sending it to others.
MonthBox Pro is sold through Apple's App Store as a yearly subscription or as a single purchase. Payments are processed entirely by Apple. The Service Provider does not receive your name, email address or payment details; the Application only checks with Apple whether your purchase is active. Apple's handling of this information is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Because the Service Provider collects no personal information, there is no personal information to sell, rent or share with third parties. The Application relies only on Apple system services (Photos, StoreKit for purchases, the App Store rating prompt and local notifications).
If you have opted in to share diagnostics and usage data with app developers in your device settings, Apple may provide the Service Provider with anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage statistics. These do not identify you.
You can delete individual ZIPs from the History tab at any time. You can permanently delete everything the Application has stored by deleting the Application from your device. Deleting the Application does not affect the photos in your Photo Library.
You can stop the Application from reading your photos at any time by changing its Photos access in your device's Settings app, or by uninstalling it.
The Application is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. If you have reason to believe that a child has provided personally identifiable information to the Service Provider through the Application, please contact the Service Provider ([email protected]) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.
Your data stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode, Face ID or Touch ID and iOS data protection. Please be aware that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-10-31.
By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
If you have any questions regarding privacy while using the Application, or have questions about the practices, please contact the Service Provider via email at [email protected].
